After years of serving patients in the fast-paced healthcare systems of New York and New Jersey, Dr. Derrick returned home to Houston with a renewed mission to advocate for better care, clearer standards, and more equitable outcomes, both in the hospital and the courtroom. Her journey led to the creation of Velaris Consulting Group, a firm dedicated to providing expert medical consulting and testimony that strengthens legal strategies and supports justice.
Dr. Derrick Sainteus is more than a medical professional; she’s a movement builder. She launched Rainbow Sun Medical and Wellness in 2021 to provide holistic care to underserved communities, and has continued that commitment to advocacy through medical-legal work that uplifts both patients and professionals. She is the current Chair of the Health and Human Services Facet for The Greater Pearland Area (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and leads youth-focused health initiatives across Houston. Her leadership extends internationally as Chair of the Medical Board for Freda’s House, a nonprofit dedicated to sustainable development in Baraderes, Haiti. She also serves on the boards of the Houston Caribbean Professional Association and SurviveHER, championing causes close to her heart: health equity, small business empowerment, and transformational community programs.
